The local high school (Avondale Theatre Company for Avondale High School) occasionally puts on an average of 3 plays a year (that number is increasing with new shows being added for performances in a small studio theatre). The time when plays usually are being performed run from September to April. Call (248) 537-6210 for more information on what's playing this season. The person to talk to for tickets is Mr. Ed Guay, the director of the Theatre Company.
One of the premier attractions of Auburn Hills (if not the entire metro area) is the Palace of Auburn Hills, the home of the Detroit Pistons, the Detroit Shock women's basketball team, and occasionally a few other sports have sprung up in this stadium as well. It is a MAJOR concert stop for recording artists around the English-speaking world, including such artists as Coldplay, Elton John, and Billy Joel.
A premier shopping destination in this area is the Great Lakes Crossing Mall here in Auburn Hills. The mall features a central food court, a 30-screen movieplex, one of the few GameWorks mega-game arcades in Michigan, and just a great place to people watch as well.
