Tech:Listing templates don't work on es:

From Wikitravel Shared
Jump to: navigation, search

What happens[edit]

The listing templates ({{see}}, {{do}}, {{buy}}, {{eat}}, {{drink}}, {{sleep}}, {{listing}}) have all stopped working on :es. Now they just show a bullet with blank space.

When it happens[edit]

It happens on any page containing these templates, which is most destination articles, making this bug fix urgent.

What should happen[edit]

Templates should display listings as they do on en:.

How to fix it[edit]

Additional comments[edit]

Guess which listings use the sleep tag...

This is an urgent problem. Up to half of the attractions, restaurants, hotels, etc. are being hidden. There are far too many listings to go through every article changing them back to a non-templated form.

I tested at es:Usuario:Peterfitzgerald/Sandbox, and it appears fine to me. Do you still see this happening? --Peter Talk 19:58, 2 July 2012 (EDT)
Yes. Look at the Sleep sections of es:Venecia, es:Sicilia, es:Catania, the first three I pulled up to check.texugo 20:37, 2 July 2012 (EDT)
I see the listings as normal on those pages too. I checked with Chromium and Midori (strange browser choices, I know). --Peter Talk 20:45, 2 July 2012 (EDT)
I am using Chrome, and I have noticed that occasionally they do display correctly, but not always. When I rechecked those 3 pages just now, the first displayed correctly and the other two did not.texugo 21:38, 2 July 2012 (EDT)

Someone marked this as fixed, but it has not been fixed, as you can see from my screenshot of the Venecia article at right. texugo 22:54, 10 July 2012 (EDT)

It was I who marked this as fixed; I am seeing what Peter and our techs are seeing, that the listings are displaying fine in Chrome (I also checked FF and IE). I'll remove this from the 1.17 bug reports page but leave this page alone, pending your investigation of your browser settings. Let me know if you believe it's an ongoing site issue.--IBobi talk email 15:04, 11 July 2012 (EDT)
They appear normal to me on Firefox, but not they are still missing in Chrome. And regardless of my browser settings, don't you think it's weird that the templates show up for me fine on other language versions but not on es:? Something must be different in the system to account for that difference... texugo 23:02, 19 July 2012 (EDT)
