What happens[edit]

I am told my ips is blocked by Ikan Kekek

When it happens[edit]

When I first visited Wikitravel and wanted to make a factual correction

What should happen[edit]

I get the message below

Additional comments[edit]

I am very sorry to have to use this way of contacting you but everything else I have tried has failed. Also sorry if this is a repeat. There is no way of knowing if it has gone or just got left in cyberspace.

I have never previously visited Wikitravel and I found some areas which have factual inaccuracies and tried to create an account. This is the message I got: "Cannot create account Account creation from this IP address ( has been blocked by Ikan Kekek. The reason given by Ikan Kekek is Autoblocked because your IP address has been recently used by "Hdfs9f2qb". The reason given for Hdfs9f2qb's block is: "Spambot""

I am a tourist professional who has been a director of the local Destination Management Organisation, Chairman of the Local Chamber of Commerce, I run the local information website for the village. I have been in tourism over 30 years, designed, set up and managed local museums, exhibitions and audio visual projects.

To be banned from making corrections or even contact you is appalling especially when you link to one of my websites and some of my phraseology is copied from my sites (not objecting, just pointing it out as a further injustice)

I trust someone monitoring this forum will do something to bring this to Ikan Kekek as I can find no way to contact anyone. I can be contacted on [email protected]

HELP PPLLEEEAAASSEEE! Can someone get this to Ikan Kekek for me.

Known problem following the MW 1.17 upgrade, see en:Wikitravel talk:How to handle unwanted edits#Important - blocking spambots. -- D. Guillaime 17:01, 3 August 2012 (EDT)
I have unblocked the spambot account, which hopefully should resolve this for Tony, but obviously, this is a problem that is affecting more users than just him, and is indeed appalling. --Peter Talk 17:11, 3 August 2012 (EDT)
