What happens[edit]

When I try to upload an image, I get the error message, "Error: File extension does not match MIME type".

When it happens[edit]

Every time.

What should happen[edit]

Should be able to upload an image.

How to fix it[edit]

Good question.

Ensure that you type out the entire filename in the field that says "Destination filename:". For example, if you are uploading a file called "Taj_Mahal.jpg", the Destination filename should contain the filename and the extension, like "Taj_Mahal_Agra.jpg".

Additional comments[edit]

This could be an easy fix, I'm not sure (I'm a newcomer here), but I've searched online for a good half hour and haven't found anything, so if you can help out, thanks!

Make sure you do not have any non-ASCII signs in the file name, like Å, Ä, Ö or japanese/chinese letters or so. Try again, report back if solved. Riggwelter 13:11, 28 August 2012 (EDT)
I encountered the same problem, no non-ASCII characters in file name. User:Frederikv 20 September 2012
Reported to tech; let's see what they say. Thank you,--IBobi talk email 18:53, 20 September 2012 (EDT)
Do you have a link to the image (or the file itself) that you can send me at paul (dot) obrien (at) internetbrands (dot) com? We're concerned your file type or size may be out of spec.--IBobi talk email 14:09, 21 September 2012 (EDT)
As long as it is any of the standard image types, the size would not be a problem. It hasn't been a problem before... so what file type, name and size are we talking about? Better keep it all in this ticket, in case similar problems occur in the future. Riggwelter 07:18, 24 September 2012 (EDT)
