I'd like to try links from Wikitravel shared to language versions of Wikitravel and vice versa, since I found a inter-language bot running on Wikimedia Commons. [1]

Also this bot is currently working on 11 language versions of Wikitravel, I'd like to apply for bot flags on the remaining 9 language versions here, because their bureaucrats are inactive or script nomination process doesn't work well. [2]

  • Support. It would be great to see Tatatabot adding "wts" links throughout the language versions—that structure isn't at all in place, and won't be without a bot's help. Regarding eo & fr, try sending Episteme an email. --Peter Talk 07:38, 19 May 2009 (EDT)
    • I sent an email to Episteme just now by using the link you wrote. Thanks. -- Tatata 08:38, 19 May 2009 (EDT)
  • Support. I think Internet Brands (User:JuCo) is the only one who has rights to all versions... but as far as I'm concerned, on the smaller ones, the bot can run even without the bot flag set. Jpatokal 08:22, 19 May 2009 (EDT)
    • Agreed on the smaller ones or underpopulated ones. But if JuCo helps me on this, I'd like to ask for bot flags on those language version. :-) -- Tatata 08:38, 19 May 2009 (EDT)
  • Support. We nominated bureaucrats on pretty much all language versions, so there should be community bcrats that can flip the switches. PS, I was a little distracted and hasty just now, and went ahead and flipped the bot switch for shared, though I should have waited the 7 days. I'll go ahead and leave it for now, but if there are any objections in the next week, I can reverse it then. Sorry bout that ;) – cacahuate talk 20:15, 19 May 2009 (EDT)
    • I sent emails to Aude and Rmx, and left a message on Carmepla's blog. Should I send an email to Evan too? -- Tatata 02:39, 20 May 2009 (EDT)
  • Support for the initiative, though I'm warning you should be patient while I learn how to bot flag. If anybody knows a shortcut, would be much appreciated. Carmepla 17:47, 20 May 2009 (EDT)
Sure, go to ca:special:userrights, enter "Tatatabot" in the field and press enter, click "bots", and then save. --Peter Talk 19:06, 20 May 2009 (EDT)
Done. Thanks for the tip Carmepla 19:11, 21 May 2009 (EDT)

Thank you all for your support! I'll start working on ca and shared. -- Tatata 06:04, 26 May 2009 (EDT)

Hello! VolkovBot (contributions) is operated by Volkov, sysop @, it's active on many wikimedia projects, and now I hope it will be helpful for wikitravel as well. It's supposed to be run periodically to maintain interwiki links across different language versions. Please approve for a bot bit to avoid clogging recent changes. Thanks. --Volkov 12:57, 19 August 2009 (EDT)

It looks like you've already got it running prior to this nomination. We've got Tatatabot running for the same purpose right now, is there a need for more than one interwiki bot here? – cacahuate talk 14:32, 19 August 2009 (EDT)
  • Support, for the same reasons enumerated at en:Wikitravel:Script nominations. I'll be happy to flip the bot switches on versions where I am a bureaucrat, which in a few days will include es, ru, pl, it, fr, he, & hu. There are no other active admins on any of the last five versions, so it should be fine to skip the nomination process there. Would you please write a brief description of your bot on the bot page (and translate it into Russian to save me a little time). I'll translate it into Spanish as well. --Peter Talk 16:23, 19 August 2009 (EDT)
  • Support. I'll flip the switch for fi and zh. Jpatokal 02:39, 20 August 2009 (EDT)
  • Support. Sounds reasonable, I can flip for Shared once this passes, and for Hi which has no other active members at the moment – cacahuate talk 16:21, 22 August 2009 (EDT)
    • Two supports and no objections within 7 days, so it's approved. Ladies and gentlemen, flip those bits! Jpatokal 02:23, 4 September 2009 (EDT)
