OK, so understud, where should I put the source, maybe on the image page, like for example at Imagine:Maniu.jpg --Danutz 20 Ian 2004 07:48 (EST).

Exactly. But don't bother now -- I'm going to delete the image, as it doesn't fit with our en:copyleft license. --EvanProdromou 25 Ian 2004 17:59 (EST)

Hai, stop, all images fit in our license, as far as i've sended them on the wikipedia server. You can see that user Danutz on the english, romanian, and esperanto wikipedia sended them. So don't bother deleting them. I guess, I have the copyrights on them, and surtenly not Wikipedia. --Danutz 28 Ian 2004 14:16 (EST)

Cool! That's great. Please just say that on the Image: pages. -- 4 Feb 2004 16:48 (EST)

InterWiki to wikitravel:xx[modificare]

Halló Evan! Please take a look at wikipedia:en:User talk:Patrick#wikitravel:. Thanks! Regards Gangleri 8 Feb 2005 17:52 (EST)

Hi Evan![modificare]

And thanks for taking the time of writing to me! :) Of course I do read & write English (as you can see). I just hope you read this page. There was a link in my wikitravel talk page to the my wikipedia talk page. That would have told you a little more about myself. I'm a sysop on Romanian wikipedia & wikinews, but I'd be honored to watch over wikitravel, too! I can't promise lots & lots of contributions, as I'm very busy in the real life & I've got some real backlog of work to do on wikipedia (maybe on wikinews too). But it is true that having the sysop tools as quick revert, delete etc. would make my job a lot easier. I think Kate (from the Kate's tool fame :) let me know that wikitravel is your personal project outside of the wikimedia scope (that explained why URL looked different for instance). During time I hope to finish interface translation too. If you need references about me, I think you can ask Ronline, which BTW it is marked as sysop, but I think that Romanian wikipedia (and now English wikipedia (he was having a Rfa) take too much of his time). Cheers! --Vlad 10 Jan 2006 14:59 (EST)

Sounds fine to me. Thanks for doing the job; I've set you up as a sysop here. Let me know if you need anything, and you may want to keep an eye on the en:Wikitravel:Logbook for new technical details. --EvanProdromou 20 Jan 2006 01:08 (EST)
Ok, I had to logout and relogin in order to see the changes. I'll try to keep an eye on the page you indicated and then put on todo list finishing interface translation, articles cleaning & sections expanding. Thanks! --Vlad 20 Jan 2006 07:12 (EST)
Hello! Just finished a long pass on cleaning by removing nonsense from this wiki... and I've just realized that there are less than 500 articles. I've also seen this discussion: http://wikitravel.org/wiki/ro/index.php?title=Discu%C5%A3ie%3APortal&diff=0&oldid=3090 so I wonder when do you decide that there is no longer the need for one foreign-language wikitravel? Thanks! --Vlad 24 Jan 2006 22:48 (EST)
"Special:AllMessages not supported because wgUseDatabaseMessages is off." Do you have any idea why I have this? Thanks! --Vlad 25 Jan 2006 17:54 (EST)
Because wgUseDatabaseMessages is off. I can turn it on if you want to have it working; it's experimental on Wikitravel, though. --EvanProdromou 27 Jan 2006 00:10 (EST)
The metric is that if we don't get a go-between message or any semblance of activity on a site in a few months, we consider it inactive. We haven't shut one down yet, though (ro: was a candidate...) and if you're willing to stick around we won't have to. --EvanProdromou 27 Jan 2006 00:11 (EST)
I'm not sure what experimental is (i.e. if you feel it's not ok, then don't activate it. I was thinking about finishing interface language translation. I know it was a candidate for deletion. I find it fun to have a somewhat little wikiproject to play with. Currently, I've started looking into Wikitravel: namespace pages, making corrections. There is another question I would like to bother you with: is there some cookie problem with session? I explain myself: I leave my browser open, and then come next day, I refresh the recent changes, I still got the session. But if I'm try to do some administrative action (like delete a page) it says this requires admin privileges. I have to logoff & logon prior in order to fully recover the session. Maybe you know why this happens. And it would be great if once one logs in, the link sends you to the Portal instead of sending you back to the page on which you were. Thank you very much for your time & answers so far! :) --Vlad 27 Jan 2006 09:39 (EST)
Ok, the AllMessages section is what I've seen in other wikiprojects, too! For now you've just rendered it visible, but it is not editable yet, right? Thanks! --Vlad 1 Feb 2006 11:07 (EST)
No, it should be fully editable. Are you having problems with it? --EvanProdromou 1 Feb 2006 19:03 (EST)
Indeed, now it seems to be fully editable; I've joined the list wikitravel-ro list, not sure what the next step is? Of course, there won't be any problem for moderating that (at least not for now:) Thanks! --Vlad 2 Feb 2006 10:51 (EST)

Deletion error message[modificare]

Hi again, Evan! For some time now when I'm deleting pages I get this error message: "Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /var/www/wikitravel/mw/extensions/Cache404.php on line 335" It's ok though, the page gets deleted. --Vlad 22 Feb 2006 13:13 (EST)

Sorry to change your message; I just couldn't take the indentation level anymore. I'll take a look at the deletion problem; thanks for the note. --EvanProdromou 23 February 2006 03:36 (EST)
I'm sorry for this indentation, I'm in 1600 x 1200 so I take advantage of it... Like I've said, it's only cosmetic as the delete performes. It has started somewhat recently, there was a day last week I guess when Wikipedia was very slow, and I've seen that type of error there, but then it was gone (but stayed here). --Vlad 23 February 2006 08:54 (EST)
I think it's fixed; it was a bug in our local caching code. Let me know if there are any problems. --EvanProdromou 24 February 2006 21:16 (EET)
It's fixed indeed, thanks! I've noticed that the deletion code is now exactly like Wikipedia. Before that there was a supplemental checkbox that had to be checked in order to make the delete. Thanks again! --Vlad 25 February 2006 02:46 (EET)

Session loss error[modificare]

Hi Evan! I'm sorry to bother you again, but this is a rather annoying issue... Even if I log in by checking the "Keep password between sessions", after around 6 hours, one is silently logged out. Why do I say silently? Because there is no indication in the upper left corner: you still seemed logged! How do I realize? I no longer have the rights to delete / revert. What is even more bizarre is that if I'm editing in this bizarre state (seems logged in, in reality logged out) I can even see the "Minor edit" check box! What do you think about this? Thank you! --Vlad 11 March 2006 11:21 (EET)

Yes, that's a really annoying situation. I need to nail down the indicators for when you're logged in better. Sorry for the problem, but rest assured that I'm working hard on it. --EvanProdromou 3 May 2006 18:46 (EEST)

What d'ya think?[modificare]

Hello Evan! Long time no speak! Could you please give me your opinion on this user's contributions: http://wikitravel.org/wiki/ro/index.php?title=Special:Contributions&target=Sapphire ? TIA --Vlad 4 octombrie 2006 20:40 (EEST)

Andrew's an excellent Wikitraveller; he's done great work on en:, de:, shared:, and takes an interest in all the language versions. --Evan 17 octombrie 2006 19:12 (EEST)

Thanks for pushing the admin status through. I'll do my best here. Texugo 11 aprilie 2007 04:17 (EEST)
