Wimberley was settled in the late 1880's as a mill town along Cypress Creek. With the beautiful, clear Blanco River flowing through it and the views of the hills and valley as you drive into and around town it has become a popular destination for tourists to the Texas Hill Country.
Wimberley is a small village that incorporated in 2003. The population averages at 3,500 within the city limits and another 4,000 in the surrounding area. There are only 3 stoplights in town. The area is popular for it's quaint small town feel, many shops, and natural areas.
There is no public transportation in Wimberley, you must drive your own or a rented vehicle. It is a popular area for biking and motorcycling with sweeping views of the hills and valleys.
