Question: How does Wikitravel link articles in different languages? Example problem: If I search for "Champagnole" from the french-based home page "Acceuil", I get 1 article, but if I search for "Champagnole" on the english-based home page I get none. If I search for "Los Angeles" from either language search pages, I get articles, with the possibility to move between languages....which is useful since opinions and 'facts' about a destination vary widely from culture to culture. Shouldn't all articles be searchable from the same page regardless of the contributor's choice of tongue? If I'm missing something or if this is the wrong place to post, please let me know, this is all very new.

How about Google's site search? Incidentally, I made bookmarklet for IE6/Win and FF2/Win to use the site search easily; see [/blog/tatata/search_assistant_tool_wikitravel Search assistant tool for Wikitravel]. -- Tatata 23:51, 15 October 2007 (EDT)

Which search engine do you use?[edit]

This seems like a different search engine from Wikipedia. Which search engine do you use, and is it available for other wikis? Russ Abbott 22:42, 15 October 2007 (EDT)

Wikitravel English version seems to use LuceneSearch, though I don't know it's the same which is used on Wikipedia... -- Tatata 23:51, 15 October 2007 (EDT)

Search for Keyword[edit]

When I use the Search bar on the top right for searching for a keyword, it often comes up empty. For example, if I search for "Lieyu" (an island controlled by Taiwan), there are no results, despite the fact that the Kinmen page contains this word. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Many other wikis are able to do this, but not here. I think it would be a good idea :-) --Flapingglass (talk) 09:32, 4 February 2015 (EST)
