Western Kenya is a region of Kenya and includes Nyanza and Western provinces of the same name.
- Kisumu - the third largest city in Kenya, and made the first Millenium city in the World by the UN. It is known for its ownership of the second largest lake in the world - Lake Victoria and is mainly made up of the Luo tribe.
- Vihiga - a town mostly populated by the Maragoli tribe.

- The cultural and natural heritage of Mfangano Island, Nyanza Province. The island is known for its richness in geometrical prehistoric rock art which is thought to be between two and four thousand years old, likely painted by Kenya's Pygmy hunter-gatherers prior to the advent of agriculture in the region. The island is today home to the Abasuba people who have founded the Abasuba Peace Museum which contains information about the cultural and natural heritage of the Abasuba people. Other popular activities on the island include boating, fishing, hiking and wildlife watching.
