Hello! Welcome to Wikitravel.

To help get you started contributing, we've created quick contribution guide and a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page.

The owners of hotels, restaurants, bars, attractions, and other businesses useful to travellers can welcome share information that helps others in their travels. However, they should adhere strictly to our policies and guidance.

If you need help, check out Wikitravel:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. —IBAlex (talk) 19:47, 7 March 2014 (EST)

Don't tout[edit]

Hello. Advertising is banned on this site, and your user talk page is where other users communicate with you. You are allowed to introduce yourself and what you do on your user page, but your current post there is pretty promotional, rather than merely descriptive, and may be deleted, too. Please read wbo, to get used to what this site is about. Also, have a look at tour.

I hope you will join the crew of volunteer editors here and share your knowledge in a non-promotional way. If that doesn't appeal to you, remember that the worldwide web is very big and has plenty of room for advertising, just not on this site.

All the best,

Tours on Wikitravel[edit]

Please be advised that we list here only tours that constitute a value-added activity for the traveler. In practice this policy disallows listings for most audio tours, walking tours, and guided tours since the substance of such tours can generally be fulfilled by an independent traveller, and the information provided on such tours should ideally be included in the appropriate Wikitravel article.
