Hello KakinokiJames! Welcome to Wikitravel.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Wikitravel:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub.

Thanks for your great contributions to Tsuwano, Shimane and more! Knowledgeable Japan writers are always very welcome. One note though: we've got a very strict external links policy, designed to allow guides to stand on their own, so I'm afraid those YouTube and third-party accommodation listing links have to go. (Primary links, eg. the town tourism bureau and official homepages of attractions etc, are still welcome.) Jpatokal 02:28, 25 October 2007 (EDT)

Adachi Museum[edit]

I am curious: have you been to the Adachi Museum of Art? I noticed you deleted the comment "the museum often feels a bit too stuffy and pretentious" and I am curious to know how you feel about the museum? Prior to visiting, I had read so many good things about it, but when I visited, I couldn't help but feel like I had stepped into some uppity country club. The garden is gorgeous, but to pay all that money to see the garden through glass, and then some mediocre artwork, I think the description needs to counter all the glossy reviews to say that it is not quite as nice as other sources may lead people to believe. You have a point: I may have gone the polar opposite of other reviews and made it too negative. I believe this garden was voted "Best in Japan" (not the world) by the American Journal of Gardeners magazine. I've made some adjustments on the description that I HOPE reflects a more balanced view. If you still think it sounds negative, feel free to make adjustments, and we can discuss the issues. ChubbyWimbus 14:33, 21 July 2009 (EDT)
