Hello IBilkka! Welcome to Wikitravel. To help you start contributing, we've created a quick contribution guide and a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Wikitravel:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. -- Adzas (talk) 16:16, 5 October 2014 (EDT)
I would be thankful for providing baliplustour. I have been gathering data for traveling in Indonesia. Thank you once again.
How nice to see that you live in Ireland. (I'm in New Zealand). Did you move there for the tax advantages offered to writers or to take advantage of the Irish weather?
I hope to see you writing a bit about places you know well in Ireland. Keep warm! --220.127.116.11 19:00, 7 December 2014 (EST)
Euro symbol: €
If you don't have a euro symbol on your keyboard you can pick one from the list of currency symbols that appears (rather a long way down on the page) below the editing box...--Babaying balikbayan (talk) 22:50, 1 February 2015 (EST)
Removal of duplicate information -- Chaoyang
Thanks for having this site which has a lot of information about Beijing. it's really useful.
I noticed that you undid work I did to clean up the Beijing/Chaoyang page. There is a lot of duplicated information and policies say that listing should be appear only in one page. These district pages look like there is a lot of incomplete work and copied stuff. This is discussed on the talk page. This work which is flagged to be done within permission, I would like you to check that I'm doing a good work that needs to be done. I'm in Beijing doing some work here and I would like to help clean this up in my sparetime. Unless there is something that I'm overlooking, I would like to restore my edits and get on with it. Salimtb007 (talk) 04:18, 13 April 2015 (EDT)
I would also like to mention that my edits were removed, even though these are important changes for Beijing -- a city that needs a mountain of work. There are thousands of restaurants in Beijing, so I am trying to provide a general indication of where to go, such as Sanlitun which is one area with at least 100 restaurants. An "undo" is a serious rebuke, but I cannot see anyone vandalising or doing the wrong thing here lately. Lawe (talk) 12:47, 14 April 2015 (EDT)
First of I apologise if your edits were undone without good reason and I appreciate that both of you want to improve on the articles. I'll try and keep a closer eye on the Beijing articles for now. I know these articles have been discussed among the admins as well, as Beijing has so many different districts and articles. Duplicate listings and such come off as advertising and would be therefore deleted. Also it's good to keep listings up-to-date but at the same time we don't want Wikitravel to become the Yellow pages, meaning that there can be too many listings, that being said Beijing is massive and therefore will have more content than most articles. Summary field is important especially when deleting content to provide valid reason for the edit. If you feel there's edits that comply with the policy feel free to re-add them if they were undone before. Keep up the good work!
Hey, the banner that you provided for Europa Island was strikingly unsimilar to the page: it is actually an uninhabited small island, while on your banner we can see lots of tourists and skyscrapers. This means the picture can never have been taken on Europa Island. I don't know what went wrong, but I removed it from the page as it clearly doesn't belong there. Hi there. Alright, thanks for correcting my mistake, I'll look into it and see if we can find an accurate banner picture for the page.
So, what is the problem about the link to the Google Map location here - http://wikitravel.org/wiki/en/index.php?title=Chiang_Rai&diff=2386098&oldid=2386072 ? Is it a spam link, or useless, or something? By the way the place is pretty hard to find without a proper location. —The preceding comment was added by 18.104.22.168 (talk • contribs)
I was wondering if you were the person that took the photo or know who did: http://wikitravel.org/upload/shared//1/10/Big_Bear_Lake_Banner.jpg I would love to use it on one of my websites but want to get permission first.
Hi! This was a picture taken from Flickr with a Creative Commons sharealike license. Please see this link here to find original link to pic and photographer. As long as you credit photographer it should be fine with this license: http://wikitravel.org/shared/File:Big_Bear_Lake_Banner.jpg
We spend one whole evening in Yerevan running around like rabbits finding the airport bus. The information about buses in Wikitravel was completely wrong, both numbers and bus stop location. Luckily we found a friendly local, who helped us to find the correct bus and stop. The information about buses and routes is available in local language only. Also, all the current information in the Internet is wrong and outdated. Nobody can find that bus stop to catch the bus if the exact location is not marked. That's why we added an external link to Google maps. If you have a better idea how to do that, please do that, but do not just remove the link.
Bear in mind, that there are at least 4 different bus stops nearby and finding the right one, or even someone willing to help you or speaking any English, and the right side of the road is a living nightmare. Thank you.
Wongnai reference on Thailand page
Hello, I was wondering why you removed the reference and link to Wongnai on the Thailand page? I added it a few days ago because I found it to be really useful for a recent trip to Thailand. Is there a rule against linking to apps?
