To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Wikitravel:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub.
There isn't an easy way to "transfer" edits - I believe that the software actually supports it, but Internet Brands, the company that runs this site, is generally unresponsive to technical requests. What you could do instead is to link to whatever anonymous contributions you made from your user page, something such as "I have also contributed anonymously. -- Ryan • (talk) • 17:49, 11 June 2010 (EDT)
Thank you very much for your recent contributions to NYC related articles! We appreciate your updates and broad knowledge about the transportation system in Big Apple. Would be great to see you here often! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me. Warm regards, IBAlex (talk) 17:11, 4 November 2013 (EST)

Answering your question about editing
Just got to your message. Can you let me know which browser and device you're trying to edit on to help me better look into what's going on? Also, just a heads up that we are looking into doing a software upgrade this week so there may be some changes. Feel free to reach out if you have any more questions or run into any issues. I'll try to send an update ASAP! Also, just a note that when messaging people on Wikitravel to go to click on the "Discussion" tab next to "User Page" and talk there. And don't forget to sign off with your name after four "~"! :) IB hill (talk) 12:02, 9 April 2018 (EDT)IB_Hill
