I recommended Congress for deletion because it's not really a destination. Sure, I bet its a great place to stop and look around, but as you say "Congress doesn't have the things to do. like eat, drink, and play golf, but it is a nice relaxing place to hang out to get away from things" If a place doesn't have much to do or really see there isn't a need for an article on the place. Instead, were proposing to delete that page and move the information to the Wayne County article. For example, I'd never create a page for Point Pleasant in Clermont County because the only noteworthy sight there is Ulysses S. Grant's birhtplace, instead I put the information in the Clermont County article. -- Sapphire 07:57, 15 October 2006 (EDT)

My Thoughts[edit]

Please add to the discussion on Wikitravel:Votes_for_deletion#Congress. I am in agreement with you, but we have a policy that says; "A common test to determine whether a subject gets its own article is the "can you sleep there?" test" in Wikitravel:What_is_an_article?. It is my belief that every small place could and should have an article. People do travel to cities, towns and villages that have no hotels or motels. I did add a sleep place nearby for Congress and it is my hope the article is not deleted. I am biased about the policy so I don't normally vote to keep these places, but I do add information so they are kept. I do hope you will stick around and help with content on Wikitravel and please don't take the request for deletion as personal. Add your reasons for keeping in Wikitravel:Votes_for_deletion#Congress and I think you may be successful. Thanks. -- Tom Holland (xltel) 08:05, 15 October 2006 (EDT)

Welcome to Wikitravel[edit]

Hello! Welcome to Wikitravel. You can edit your preferences to change how the software works for you. Please take a second to look at our copyleft and policies and guidelines, but feel free to plunge forward and edit some pages. Scanning the Manual of style, especially the article templates, can give you a good idea of how we like articles formatted. If you're new to our wiki software, MediaWiki, look at the Wiki markup to get an idea of how to edit a page. If you need help, check out the help desk, and if you need some info not on there, post a message in the travellers' pub.

Thank you for your contributions and thank you for sticking around! If you need any help let me know. I would also encourage you to create an account, but for sure continue to add your valuable content on very interesting destinations in Ohio. Again welcome to Wikitravel! -- Tom Holland (xltel) 19:09, 15 October 2006 (EDT)

User account[edit]

Can I suggest signing up for a user account and possibly becoming a docent for Wayne County? -- Andrew H. (Sapphire) 18:14, 30 October 2006 (EST) Well I do have a registered user name here. I just keep forgetting to sign in. What's a docent? I am taking it myself to help with all of NE Ohio, Wayne county is just one of my favorite counties in NEOHIO. Check out Ashtabula County, I worked on that also.

Links to films[edit]

We generally try to minimize external links by linking only to primary sites - see Wikitravel:External links. I've removed the links to the films, but please discuss on Wikitravel talk:External links if you feel that they should be included. -- Ryan 20:59, 13 November 2006 (EST)
