Hello! Welcome to Wikitravel. Thanks for your recent edit on the San Francisco page. When removing a large amount of text, try to leave an explanation in the summary field so we all know what you did. To help you further contributing, we've created a quick contribution guide and tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Wikitravel:Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. -- Adzas (talk) 12:18, 7 May 2014 (EDT)

Thanks for the "welcome", Astrid; I've actually been editing here for a few years longer than you have!
The edit that I made was actually an entirely trivial one (albeit one conforming to our "shorter the better" for abbreviations policy) merely done to "ratify" and signify my approval of my predecessor's IP's large scale removal of text (that was adequately signalled in their edit summary).
As for help, the spambots seem to have no problems with your captcha challenges - but they are a big disincentive and obstacle to participation for the casual editors that are normally the lifeblood of a wiki project like this one.
Why not take a leaf out of your WikiMedia Foundation travel guide competitors and just save the challenges for those edits that add new external links? -- 12:36, 7 May 2014 (EDT)
