The former Horsens State Prison was in active use from 1853 to 2006, when the newly built East Jutland State Prison took over. The foundation FÆNGSLET now runs the cultural institution of the same name in the imposing buildings, which house the Prison Museum and various conference and business facilities as well as several large concerts and events throughout the year.
