Understand[edit]

Get in[edit]

By Plane[edit]

Umkomaas is situated about an hour South of King Shaka International Airport and can be reached via Bus, Shuttle or Chauffeur Services. Your place of accommodation should be able to arrange this for you. Blue Ocean Dive Resort has the resources for all 3 categories.

By Shuttle[edit]

Baz Bus and Margate coach are the most optimal, Baz Bus stops only in the neighbouring town of Scottburgh so you would still need to make your way to Umkomaas, Blue Ocean Dive Resort would pick you up. Margate Coach would drop you off in Umkomaas, willing to deviate from their route they are the more popular choice. Just merely request a drop off at the Umkomaas Shell garage. This is within walking distance of most accommodation venues.

By Chauffeur[edit]

Each hotel, resort and back packer has their own preference. While chauffeurs seem a little more expensive, they are reliable in terms of being on time, safe to travel and take you on a direct route with no stops to the front door of your final destination. So there's no worries of catching a taxi or becoming stranded in any particular place if you miss your stop on a shuttle service for example, no time delays with the stops of dropping off and picking up of other passengers, just getting straigh to the point for you to relax and settle in and FINALLY start that holiday.

Rent a car[edit]

At the airport there are many car rental companies situated just outside of the terminal. Make sure to bring your passport, ID, International Diver's licence and credit card for booking.
