Among the most amazing things do in Cape Town is to see Table Mountain via the Table Mountain Aerial Cable Car which opened in 1929. This revolving cable car takes customers from the bottom cable car post all the way to the top cable post onto the flat summit of the 260-million year old Table Mountain. The upper cable post is 1,067 meters high and you are able to observe the city bowl diminish as you travel higher up the mountain. The ride will take approximately five mins and there are cable cars going up and down every ten to 15 minutes. You can also trek up to the extensive flat table top that stretches out 3 kilometres or ride in the cable car. After exploring the beauty of the short walks on the mountain top, you can either go back down in the cable car or alternatively select the more adventurous way of climbing down the side of the mountain. Whatever you may select, you are assured of appreciating every minute of the trip. The 360 degree view from the flat crest is simply amazing since you can see the whole city, extending from Muizenburg Devil�s Peak, Signal Hill, and the Victoria & Albert Waterfront all the way to Somerset West below the Helderberg Mountains.
