The Table Mountain amphitheater is a natural focus for every tourist to the beautiful city of Cape Town.

There are any number of things to do in Cape Town and a favorite is visiting the winelands around Cape Town. The wine growing areas of Paarl, Somerset West and Elgin produce world-class wines and are within easy reach of Cape Town. Among the most amazing things do in Cape Town is to see Table Mountain via the Table Mountain Aerial Cable Car which opened in 1929. This revolving cable car takes customers from the bottom cable car post all the way to the top cable post onto the flat summit of the 260-million year old Table Mountain. The upper cable post is 1,067 meters high and you are able to observe the city bowl diminish as you travel higher up the mountain. The ride will take approximately five mins and there are cable cars going up and down every ten to 15 minutes. You can also trek up to the extensive flat table top that stretches out 3 kilometres or ride in the cable car. After exploring the beauty of the short walks on the mountain top, you can either go back down in the cable car or alternatively select the more adventurous way of climbing down the side of the mountain. Whatever you may select, you are assured of appreciating every minute of the trip. The 360 degree view from the flat crest is simply amazing since you can see the whole city, extending from Muizenburg Devil�s Peak, Signal Hill, and the Victoria & Albert Waterfront all the way to Somerset West below the Helderberg Mountains. The 'Shop on Top of the mountain sells t-shirts, caps and souvenirs that you might want to purchase before going back down. You can dine at the Table Mountain Caf� while enjoying the magnificent view. In 2011, Table Mountain was named one of the New7Wonders of Nature and is at the top of the list of amazing places to visit in Cape Town.

The garden is located on the beautiful eastern slope of Table Mountain. The whole property is a total of 528 hectares including 36 hectares of cultivated garden. This garden is world renowned for its breathtaking and diverse collection of plants and fauna. Plants you are going to find in the garden are mainly indigenous South African plants from a number of different regions in the country, including Cape fynbos. The compact indigenous woodland on the mountain slopes has various hiking tracks and is a birders paradise. Nature lovers can amble through the gardens along one of the many paths or simply enjoy the tranquility of the gardens by relaxing under the trees on the lawns.
