Demands for Money[edit]

The description, under Annoyances, of people all over the place constantly asking for money fortunately does not fit with my personal experience in May/June 2011. Perhaps it's changed, or depends on the season, but I hiked the whole thing (and took trips down to the river) and, once on the trail, I had only one encounter in which someone pushed for payment--this was in return for permission to take a photo from a certain ridge. There were maybe two very casual offers for a horse or donkey ride (offers made as they passed by), but that was it. Yes, also btw, some Chinese nationals (on vacation, not locals) looked very concerned when they learned I was hiking it, and they warned me it could be very dangerous. --j. blackmon

Tiger Leaping Gorge[edit]

An attraction rather than a destination. I have copied the text here to the nearest town, Lijiang, which was the only page linking to this. Pashley 09:59, 9 November 2006 (EST)

  • I now realise I was wrong above. This clearly deserves its own article. Pashley 06:53, 31 March 2008 (EDT)

Any objections if I remove Tina's Youth Hostel, or are there good reviews as well? Info seems based on personal experience, we only want the best places listed for our travelers. Input is welcome. Adzas (talk) 06:05, 28 January 2015 (EST)
