Talk:MV Liemba

I am not sure, whether this is worthy of an own page.

According to the Guidelines it should be:

"Famous tourist trains that a traveller would choose to ride for its own sake such as Trans-Siberian Railway
...but not trains only for transportation without extensive exposure to scenic beauty or on board entertainment."

This ship is a legend among travellers. Many take on long ways just to catch a ride on this boat. Several books have been written on it and several documentations have been filmed about this ship. The newest film was shot by BBC World in October 2014 and should air in November 2014. —The preceding comment was added by User4353 (talkcontribs)

Hi! Thanks for leaving this comment! I was actually wondering what we should do with this article. It's not our typical type of an article, however on the policy page you can read a common test to determine whether a subject gets its own article is the "can you sleep there?" test. I guess a journey with MV Liemba lasts few days as we have information about the cabins. Is that correct? Also, I believe that the article would have more value for the traveler if you add more information in a section "Itinerary". Could you do that? Looking forward to your answer and comments from the community what we should do with this article:) Cheers! IBAlex (talk) 16:28, 14 October 2014 (EDT)
Thanks, IBAlex. I already added some information on the itinerary. Information is hard to get by and I would have been happy, had I had this information before my trip. A round trip on the MV Liemba takes about 5 days. Typical itineraries are however the trip from Kigoma to Mahale (around 10 hours) and from Kigoma to Zambia (around 2,5 days) and vice versa. Both include at least a partly overnight stay. I think this page also makes sense, because I fear it might dominate the Kigoma page (where it would be integrated into, right?) too much. There is plenty of information for this page. However, it is just my two cents. —The preceding comment was added by User4353 (talkcontribs)
Hi! Thanks for working on that page! I appreciate it! Do you mind adding also information about the routs that you can take and a short description of what you could see during the journey? I believe this information would help many travelers considering taking MV Liemba. Also, small hint- if you want to sign your comment, please user ~~~~. Cheers!
