I'm wondering if we really need this page. Maybe we should just link to each of the sub-districts from Chicago and get rid of the link to this one? It's always going to be pretty much for navigation, no? -- Mark

Yeah, my initial idea was that we would treat the districts like regions and only list the top-level districts on the main Chicago article (Central Chicago, South Side, North Side, Far North Side, etc.) and then only list the sub-districts on the top-level district pages. As it is now, the districts section of the Chicago article is very long and perhaps overwhelming. I'm still not sure how best to proceed with this. --Peter Talk 12:05, 13 June 2007 (EDT)
I agree, we could delete this one. Gorilla Jones 14:15, 13 June 2007 (EDT)
I'm having this post-tense worry though that I'm being unclear about one thing, which is that I don't think we should do this for any of the other top-level districts. At least not until they are so full of stuff that they feel like the main Chicago article used to feel. As it is we don't really have enough material for the near north and near south, but it shouldn't be too hard to come up with. -- Mark 18:04, 13 June 2007 (EDT)
Yup, best to be clear—I do think we should do this for other top level districts, especially for the Near South and Near North. It's going to take me a while to get there, but I intend to go one by one and will fill out each of the districts outlined this map. If your concern is that this will result in a lot of sudden empty district articles, don't worry. I actually do intend to go one by one, creating at least usable district articles with street maps, much as I have so far for the Chicago/Loop and Chicago/Near North. In any rate, don't think that our current set up on the main Chicago article looks very good (too cluttered)— I'll try adding the Template:Regionlist in the next couple hours to see how it looks. --Peter Talk 18:51, 13 June 2007 (EDT)
I'm a big fan of Peter's new set-up. I think it looks sleek and it should be easy for travelers to use. Gorilla Jones 00:05, 14 June 2007 (EDT)
