Szlak Metalurgów (Metallurgists trail) is a trail starting in district of Gołonóg and ending in Sosnowiec- Maczki. The trail gained its name after industrial past of region. You can see many places connected to industrial history here as well as other landmarks as Gołonoskie Hill. The trail is marked in black.


Although the trail is not much long. It's quite high elevated what makes it a bit mountain-like one. In spite of all less experienced hikers can take it.


The trail doesn't requite any special preparation as much of its part cross over city areas. Although it's worth to have first aid kit.


The trail starts near Głonóg railway station and crosses following places:

  • Gołonóg (Railway Station}- Gołonóg (Gołonoskie Hill)- Laski- Jamki- Bordowicz Hill- Strzemieszyce Małe- Sosnowiec (Ostrowy Górnicze)-Sosnowiec (kolonia Cieśle)-Sosnowiec (kolonia Wągródka)- Sosnowiec (Stare Maczki)
  • total time: about 5 h
  • kilometers: 20 km

You can also take it by bike. Some of path's parts are common with Via Regia (Camino de Santiago) trail.

Get out[edit]

You can take a bus to center of Sosnowiec or Dąbrowa Górnicza and then to Gołonóg.

Stay Safe[edit]

District the trail crosses are rather safe and hikers are rather rare crime victims. In spite of all stay cautious, especially if you're a single tourist.


Buying goods in the district won't be any problem as much of them have small shops.
