Stilo (Greek: Stylos, column) is a town and comune in the province of Reggio Calabria, in the Calabria region of southern Italy. It is located 151 km from Reggio Calabria. The origins of Stilo are connected to the destruction of the ancient Greek colony of Kaulon by Dionysius II of Syracuse, followed by another by the Campanians (allied of the Romans) in 277 BC.
Trenitalia trains stop at Monasterace, which is a 16km drive away. Local buses can take you up and down the hill for 1,20€.
The Cattolica di Stilo is just a short walk away from the town centre. It was built in the 9th century in the Byzantine style.
