Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park
Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park (159 sq km) is situated on the northern fringe of Kathmandu valley and lies about 12 km away from the center of capital city.
Established in 2002.
Shivapuri (2732m) is the second highest peak among the hills surrounding the Kathmandu Valley.
Flora and fauna
The park is located in a transition zone between subtropical and temperate climate. The annual precipitation of about 1,400 mm falls mostly from May to September, with 80% during monsoon. Temperatures vary from 2–17 °C during the winter season, rising to 19–30 °C during the summer season.
From Kathmandu drive north 16 km blacktop and then 9 km dirt road (1:30hrs).
Entry fee of Rs250(Foreigners) and Rs10(Nepalese)
