Salona was an ancient metropole of the Roman province of Dalmatia, situated in middle part of the east Adriatic coast.
In the ancient times Salona was the capital of the Roman province of Dalmatia, until the migration of peoples, when it was abandoned.
Whether you are going from Split, Trogir or Kaštela, you can take the local bus number 37 the the town of Solin, and from there make your way on foot. There are plenty of signs, or you can always stop someone and ask for directions.
There is no entrance fee.
There is a parking in front of the entrance, but inside you can only walk around.
Salona has a very well preserved amphitheater, theater, basilica, cemetery and many other Roman buildings.
