Rowland Heights is a city in the San Gabriel Valley.

Rowland Heights is a city in Los Angeles County. It is located below the Puente Hills in the San Gabriel Valley. It is one of the cities in the region with an Asian plurality, similar to San Gabriel. Like the west San Gabriel Valley, there is a large concentration of Chinese Americans and it is one of the cities with the largest concentration of Chinese Americans by percentage in the United States. However, unlike the west, Rowland Heights has a sizable Korean population, similar to Gardena in the South Bay Region of Los Angeles.

Get in[edit]

Rowland Heights is located in the San Gabriel Valley. It is very accessible from the 60 freeway exits of Fullerton and Nogales and on the streets of Colima Road, Fullerton Rd, and Golden Valley.

Car[edit]

The car is one of the best ways to get around the city. There are streets that lead around the city. As Rowland Heights is not a big city and its location near the Puente Hills, there are still many ways to get around the city. The best routes to get around are Gale Ave and Colima Road, which lead around the city. They are also very accessible by exiting off the 60 freeway. As most Californians use car instead of public transport, there is still public transport that go around the city.

Metro[edit]

Foothill Transit and the Metro provide bus transit services throughout the San Gabriel Valley. The main Metro Bus Terminal is in El Monte. In addition, the Metrolink commuter train runs west towards Downtown Los Angeles and east to the Inland Empire through the Valley.

With the large Asian American presence, there are lots of Asian stores you can shop at. This includes supermarkets. Places like Shun Fat Market, 99 Ranch Market, HK2 Food District, and Big Lots stores are good places to shop at. Also, the Puente Hills Mall is a good shopping center for tourists and locals to shop at. It contains many American shopping brands like Marshalls, Target, as well as several more Asian stores, like TS Emporium and Superco.

Get out[edit]

As the city is located along the 60 freeway, it is the number route in exiting the city. The 60 freeway runs west to east from Downtown Los Angeles to Riverside County, which makes it the best route. However, during rush hour, the freeway is severely congested. If you want to find some food similar to this, head on the 60 west toward Monterey Park and have the similar options.
