Stay safe[edit]

Roscommon and South Leitrim are safe. Violent crime is rare and virtually all areas are safe to walk around at night. As always, be vigilant when out and about in pubs. People can get too drunk and heated conversations can start fights. Give no-one a reason to confront you and you will be fine.

Roscommon roads are notorious for their poor quality, often dotted with potholes and bumps from poor maintenance. Stay under the speed limit, mind country roads, and avoid tailgating anyone.

Get out[edit]

Cloonfad Scenic Walks - 30 minute drive west of Roscommon. Some excellent short/medium scenic walks. [1]
