Pińczów (Peentschoov) is a small town in Świętokrzyskie.


During 16 Pińczów was an important reformation center. Then it was bought by Roman Catholic Myszkowski family who maded the city a multucultural place inhabited by Poles, Jews, Scots, Italians, Germans and French people. It was also an important center of Jewish culture.

Get in[edit]

There're direct buses from Katowice, Kielce or Kraków. You can get here from many Silesian Voivodeship cities as f.ex. Sosnowiec. Kraków airport's located about 1,5 h from the town. Katowice and Rzeszów airports're located 2 h from Pińczów.

  • old town. Old town's composed by small market place and several old churches.
  • Wielopolski family palace. 18 century palace, currently a library
  • Polish Bretherns Print House (Drukarnia Ariańska)
  • old synagogue
  • Saint Anne chapel. Chapel from 1600 located on the hill
  • Old towers. (baszty)
  • Regional museum
  • Zawięzienie cemetery. Cemetery and memorial place dedicated to town dwellers killed by German Nazi.
  • Cemetery. There're some 18 century graves

You can walk on Nida river or do canoeing on it. Tourist train Express Ponidzie also stops here. Pińczów's also popular among paragliders.
