Pernem is a village in North Goa, India.


Famously known as North Entrance of Goa.Pernem (known as Pedane) is small town and Taluka headquarter of Pernem Taluka. This Taluka is least urbanized taluka in entire Goa. It is famous for its Temples, beaches, villages and their tradition.

Getting in Pernem taluka is very much easy. It has got good connectivity of road and rail network. NH-17 coming from Mumbai to Goa passes through this taluka and also through this town known as Pernem. NH-17 further advances to Karnataka through Bardez Taluka and South Goa. There is good connectivity of Konkan Railway. There is only one railway station known as PERNEM RAILWAY STATION. It is situated on NH-17 at Malpe village near Pernem Town. It is about 2 kms away from Pernem Town. Very less trains have got halt at this station namely Mandovi Express (daily MUMBAI-MADGAON) Konkankanya Express (daily MUMBAI-MADGAON) Goa Sampark Kranti Express ( Twice a week DELHI-MADGAON). Another Railway station is Thivim Railway Station which is next to Pernem which falls in BARDEZ taluka. Comparatively more trains are having halt this station than Pernem. It is around 20 kms from Pernem Town.
