Niegowonice ( pronounced Nye-go-vo-nee-sa) is a small village near famous Ogrodzieniec castle and Błędowska Desert in Poland.

Get in[edit]

By bus[edit]

There's bus number 609 traveling from Tworzeń district in Dąbrowa Górnicza it also stops in Niegowonice. You can check it's timetable on KZK GOP site.

By car[edit]

The village is located 36 km from Katowice and 22 km from Dąbrowa Górnicza.

  • Kromołowiec .The most popular tourist place in Niegowonice, sometimes called Skałki ( Rocks in Polish), located on 790 way leading to Ogrodzieniec. It's a wide, partly forested hill with many limestone rocks. It's also a great viewpoint on Błędowska Desert and Ogrodzieniec castle. There's small car park and some benches. Rocks of Kromołowiec hill are also popular among climbers.
  • Saint Anthony church (Starowiejska street) . Church built in the begining of 19 century by one of the village owners- Franciszek Grabiński. It was rebuilt in 1909. There're 16 century cross and polychromies from 30s.
  • Graveyard (Cmentarna street ). Located on a hill. There's a small First World War monument with Austro-Hungarian soldiers' remains ( mostly with Polish, Czech and Austrian origins).

Talk[edit]

As in other small cities and villages foreign langueges are not much spoken. Young people can speak some English. In spite of all using Polish phrasebook is recomendable.

There's no accomodation in Niegowonice. The closest one is Hotel Centuria in Hutki-Kanki. You can also find it in nearby Ogrodzieniec.
