New Jalpaiguri (Also frequently known by its station code NJP) is a major railway station near Siliguri, which serves as the main railway station for the town, as well as a rail head for hill stations like Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Gangtok, and the town of Jalpaiguri.

New Jalpaiguri is connected by several daily trains in Northern/Eastern/North-Eastern India, like New Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahati, Lucknow, Kanpur, Allahabad, etc. There are also weekly trains to other destinations like Mumbai, Chennai, Bhubaneswar, etc.

Despite its name, New Jalpaiguri lies approximately 40 kilometres to the north west of Jalpaiguri. Jalpaiguri has 3 stations nearer to it, namely,

  • Jalpaiguri (JPG)
  • Jalpaiguri Road (JPE)
  • Raninagar Jalpaiguri Jn (RQJ)

These stations are not as well connected to the rest of India as New Jalpaiguri. Nonetheless, there are several daily trains from Delhi and Kolkata to Jalpaiguri Road. These three stations are connected to New Jalpaiguri and Siliguri Jn by several daily trains.
