Flora and fauna
Selam Bus and Zemen Bus offer daily pre-dawn service from Addis Ababa to Arba Minch. From the bus drop off point, it is a few KM down an unpaved, rocky dirt road to the park.
It is possible but not advisable to walk. Tuk tuks (bajaj) cannot go down this road, either. 4-wheel drive is recommended.
There are no facilities in the national park, not even at the entrance. Any food and drink need to be brought in (and trash taken out). Cheap, delicious food is available in the main street of the town.
There do not seem to be any restrictions on what can be brought in, but be aware that the wildlife may be attracted to food and could try to take it by force if hungry enough. Monkeys, especially, are numerous and have been known to bite.
Please be respectful with your trash and leave no trace! There are enough traces here already.
As of January 2019, this area in Arba Minch is subject to civil unrest and an armed ranger is required to escort all visitors. In addition, the nearby nature reserves are closed, restricted, or not advised for visitors.
