Lunglei (Pron:/ˈlooŋgˌleɪ/) is a town, situated in the south-central part of Mizoram state, northeastern India.
Nearest Airport is Aizawl, and it takes about 2 hours to reach Aizawl from the Airport, as the Airport is situated in the plane lands. The only mode of communication from Aizawl to Lunglei is through road. You can hire a Private vehicle or the Tata Sumos also ply from Aizawl to Lunglei and departs every hour. It generally takes about 6 hours to reach Lunglei, but the road conditions are not good and it might take upto 8-9 hours to cover the 165 kms.
Lunglei is a beautiful hill city and the views are simply breath taking. Temperature is pleasant throughout the year, but the winters are very cold. Some places of interest inside the city are : Zobawk Sports Academy Kawmzawl Park Khawnglung Wildlife Sanctuary Saikuti Hall: where most of the concerts and celebrations are held. A unique museum has also been established in the hall where local painters demonstrate their skill and exhibit their works. Thuamluaia Mual - is the second football stadium with Artificial turf in Mizoram. For those tourists who want to add a bit of adventure in their sojourn to Mizoram, Lunglei offers them with a plethora of picnic spots to explore their inherent sporting skills and sportsman spirit. Lunglei district offers the tourists to enjoy natural splendor coupled with the rich cultural traditions of the region.

Mostly Mizo dishes are available, but Indian cuisine are available and takes bit of time. It is advisable to order for Indian food well before hand.
Alcohol is prohibited in the state of Mizoram.
Few Budget hotels are avaialble, but the best option is the Government Guest House and one should book it well in advance and feel the clouds entering your room as you sip onto the morning tea.
