In this Province of Catalonia, like the rest of the country, there are two languages: Catalan and Spanish, but also Aranese (an Occitan dialect) is spoken in Aran Valley, a Catalan comarca at centre of Pyrenees near to France, by a couple of thousand people. The three languages are official, but Catalan is the main language of streets and administration, and the Aranese is promoted by the Aranese government.
