Limburg is one of the five provinces and the easternmost of Flanders (Belgium). Limburg is the province in the eastern part of Flanders. It is the green province with plenty of open space and nature. Limburg is well known for its castles and abbeys, orchards, smaller cities abound with remnants of the past and its history in coal mining.
The official language, as in all of Flanders, is Dutch. Many people also speak Limburgish, a Dutch dialect. Also widely spoken are English and to a lesser extent German.
