Lake Manyara

Jump to: navigation, search

Lake Manyara National Park is in Northeast Tanzania of Tanzania.

Lake Manyara National Park – A sign upon entrance says – "Remove nothing from this Park except: Nourishment for the soul, Consolation for the heart, Inspiration for the mind.“ This refuge for animals, great and small, is all of that and more. Do not miss. The elephant sightings are numerous, as are giraffes. Most amazing is the endless sea of flamingos that make the lake appear almost pink.

Flora and fauna[edit]

During rainy season, there is a tendency to flood which will severely inhibit your game viewing. Check with your tour company in advance if this can be swapped out for more time in Serengeti or Ngorongoro in case this happens.

Get in[edit]

Stay Safe[edit]

In this area particularly there are a lot of mosquitos and Tse-Tse flies (whose bites are very painful!), much moreso than you'll find in more Northern safari areas (Serengeti, Ngorongoro).
