Ko Hong (เกาะห้อง) is a small island in Andaman Sea in Southern Thailand. It is one of the destinations in Krabi Province.
Ko Hong is the largest island of Laopilae archipelago (หมู่เกาะเหลาบิเล๊ะ) that is located in Thanbok Khoranee National Park. The island has been called ‘The Emerald of Krabi’s Sea’ because it has stunning scenery and clear water and is surrounded by coral reefs. The place of interest in the island is Pilae beach (หาดบิเล๊ะ), the beach that is divided into two sections like a bird wing and has white sand and clear water and small magnificent fish are swimming everywhere.
Another interesting place is Hong Beach(หาดห้อง), which is like a large natural pool, surrounded by steep cliffs like a room, has one-way entrance only about 10 meters wide. This type of landscape is called lagoon. It can be entered by boat or kayak. The water is shallow and clear and great for swimming.
Ko Hong can be traveled the whole year but the best season is between November and May.
The best recommended way is to buy a tour package half day or full day by contacting the resort or in the reception of the port. If you buy a tour package, it also includes many activities such as snorkeling and kayaking. Another way is directly contacting the boats that park in front of Nang beach.
