Kidepo Valley National Park
the park contains unusual, not often sighted Predators such as the aardwolf, bat-eared fox, caracal, cheetah, hunting dog and striped hyena. the park also contains the usual plains animals such as Lions, leopards, giraffe and other common herbivores. small cats are also found within the park.
Kidepo National park was established in 1962.
Open tree savannah. Park contains the two seasonal rivers – Kidepo and Narus. During the dry season, the only permanent water in the park is found in wetlands and remnant of pools in the broad Narus Valley near Apoka. Park is famous by the borassus palm trees.
Flora and fauna
herbivores include elephant, rothschild giraffe, nile buffalo, burchell's zebra, oribi, klipspringer, uganda kob, greater and lesser kudu, warthog, bush pig, topi, grant's gazelle, eland, bushbuck, common duiker, bush duskier, roan antelope, beisa oryx, dik dik, Defassa Waterbuck, jackson's hartbeest, Chandlers Mountain reedbuck and Bohor reedbuck. carnivores include lion, cheetah, leopard, carcal, serval, spotted hyena, stripped hyena, aardwolf, african hunting dogs, black-backed jackal, side-striped jackal and bat eared foxes. primates found in the park include the endemic (found nowhere else) Kavirondo bush baby 465 species of bird have been recorded in the park and 58 of these are birds of prey and 14 of these are endemic to the region.
Park climate is semi arid and it is the most isolated national park in Uganda. The annual average temperature ranges about 29o C. The rainy season lasts irregular from April to September.

Non residents require a permit.
There are two entrance gates to the park. One is Lokumoit gate, from the southwestern part of the park and another Natabe gate with the main entrance from the southeastern part. Apoka is a turism servicing center here. The best time to visit Kidepo wildlife is the dry season, as the for birdwatching is more suitable wet season.
The park is home to the some Big Five game animals. There are common animals such as African Bush Elephant and African Buffalo. Lion and leopard are seen only by occasion. Also, there is possible to see many zebras and a large birds representative – Ostrich.
There is a craft shop selling books, souvenirs, alcoholic beverages, bottled-water plus what is possible to buy during your visit.
The camps and tents tend to be closed during the rainy season.
