Khir Ganga is a city in Himachal Pradesh.
Khir Ganga is a small village set up through out the summers in Himachal Pradesh. It is open for 7 months in a year from March thru October. It is only accessible by foot. It is a beautiful day trek on a narrow cliff side path going by numerous waterfalls and few isolated villages. There is usually about 30-50 people at the village site during the high season.
By Air: You can fly from Delhi to Bhuntar Airport and take a taxi or a local transport (bus) to Barsheni thru Jari, Kasol and Manikaran.
By Road: You can drive from Delhi to Barsheni through Panipat, Ambala, Mandi, Bhunter, Manikaran or You can also take the Volvo bus from Delhi to Manali/Kullu. Off-board the bus at Bhuntar. From Bhuntar you can take a taxi or the local transport (bus) to Barsheni thru Manikaran.
From Barsheni, its a 11-12 km trek to Khirganga, thru Rudranag.
Getting around the place is done basically on Foot, donkey or horse. This is a non-roadable spot.
Places To See
Sit in a natural hot spring and enjoy the dramatic scenery of the valley.
Visit the small temple by the hot spring.
3-4 small cafes are availible. Probably Green Place will be the best choice. Full dinner run about 300 Rs.
Rooms are available without booking in advance and run about 200 rupees a night.
You can also carry your tents and camp as it has beautiful pastures and during the night the sky is sight to watch with twinkling stars above you.
