Kent County, Capital Region of Delaware has something for everyone.
Great place to get away and do some exploring. West of Dover there is a healhty Amish population and many Amish business owners. Don't be surprised if you are driving down the road and see a horse an buggy. If you enjoy visiting museums there are 19 in Kent Country all but two are free. Eleven of those museums are located in Dover- ten are free. The Delaware Archaeology Museum, Museum of Small Town Life and the Victrola Museum which reveals how music was started with a huge collection of 78 LPMs and large collection of victrolas is a part of Museum Square. Located on Legislative Mall, The Biggs Museum of American Art upstairs in the State Visitors Center houses fine furnishings, art and elaborate silver from America's past. Delaware Public Archives next to Legislative Hall is a great place to look for Delaware Ancestors and view the Bill of Rights. South of Dover you will the AMC-Air Mobility Comand Museum with flight simulators and military planes; everything from small trainers such as the BT-13 "Valiant to a B-17G Flying Fortress, C141 and a C-133. Just down the road is the John Dickinson Plantation, the 18th centuary childhood home of the "Penman of the American Revolution."
Dover International Speedway and Dover Downs Hotel and Casino are located in North Dover are not far from the Dover Mall, State Police Museum, the Agriculture Museum and Delaware State University.
Dover is the State Capital and the largest city in Central Delaware. Smyrna, Milford, Harrington, Little Creek, Bowers Beach, Leipsic, Frederica, Hartly and Marydel are other communities locted in Kent County.
