Karimnagar is a district of Telangana, in Southern India.


Karimnagar is a city in Telangana state. The region falls into the category of a fast developing city with many famous monuments which are in ruins. Karimnagar is one of the 20 most developed districts in India. The famous temple of Lord Raja Rajeshwara Swamy is situated in Vemulawada , the temple of Lord Kaleshwara-Mukteshwara Swamy is situated in Kaleshwaram and temple of Veera Hanuman is situated in this district.

  • Dharmapuri - pigrim centre of Lord Laxmi Narasimha with lot of temples located on the bank of the sacred river Godavari. Famous for astrologers, poets, Vedas.
  • Musthabad-Pothugal - famous for paddy industry. Many Rice Mills and people grow rice crop. Ramaswamy and Hanuman temples are here.

Karimnagar has some of the best roads in Telangana. It is a major road junction in Telangana region of Telangana. It has one of the biggest and busiest bus stations in Telangana. It is connected to the state capital, Hyderabad, by Rajiv Rahadari. There are frequent buses from Hyderabad to Karimnagar (once every 10 minutes). It is connected by very good roads with the nearest cities like Warangal and Nizamabad and towns like Ramagundam, Mancherial and Kamareddy.

By train[edit]

Though Karimnagar is equipped with a railway station, the expansion program is still underway. If you prefer to come to Karimnagar on rail, you can either get down at Warangal (80 km) or Kazipet (80 km) and get a bus from there. Alternatively, you can get down at Ramagundam (70 km) or Peddapalli (40 km) and get a local train which operates from Sirpur Khagaznagar to Jagitial via Ramagundam, Peddapall and Karimnagar. The train runs twice a day and takes more time than on road. So, strong advice is to take a bus from any of the stations mentioned above.

If you have ever been to Karimnagar and missed mamaji jalebi, you have missed the true delicacy of Jalebi. Started in a small room and still exists the same which is situated near Clock Tower in Karimnagar. Go for it and savor your senses.

Karimnagar's Raju Tea Stall is famous for its Tea, snacks (especially Samosa) and Badusha (a kind of sweet). It is known that Raju tea stall sells at least ten thousand cups of tea every day i.e. some one or the other orders tea in every four second in during its working hours.

You will get good special biryani And you will find very famous hotel in ramagundam near railway station Called Moiz hotel where you can find very good tea for relaxness

The Biryani Of "Peacock Restaurant" is very famous and is a must try, it is opposite the bus stand, and the two hotels whichs are famous for their "chai" are Majid ki hotel and Hussain Cafe.

If you in karimnagar at the time of Holy month of RAMZAN, u must have the "DAHI BADE" OF MUNNU which u find at Sawaran Masjid after Asar prayer, and also the Famous Akbariya Harees, which you find at Madina Masjid, Mukarrampura.

The other best place to eatout at karimnagar is at Geeta bhavan udipi hotel at mukarrampura chowrasta.

Other Top food Item of karimnagar is Kalyani(beef) Biryani found at many hotels famous are Shazia Hotel, mukarrampura and Taj Hotel, Karkhanagadda.

You will be able to all kind of drinks like cheap liquor to costly foreign liquors in town. If you go to rural areas will be get white liquor extracted from trees which are similar to coconut trees.

Stay safe[edit]

Be careful in remote places like villages. Just enquire about the situation there well before you start. Some remote places in Karimnagar are influenced by Maoists--generally they might not trouble any passerbys or tourists.
