The road between Nebaj and Coban is poorly maintained. In many places it is merely a mud road and it suffered severe damage in 2011. While much of this has been fixed (as of December 2014), in sufficient rain the road may close without notice causing travelers to walk around the most muddy slope (the hike takes about 45 minutes) and pay additional fare on the other side of the closure.
