Hattingen is a city of the state North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany..

Hattingen is a town of medieval heritage. Its steel industry (Henrichshütte) had high industrial relevance in the 19th and 20th century. Nowadays the focus in on Tourism, small industry, and service.

By Train[edit]

S3 (Oberhausen - Hattingen) leaves every 20 minutes

By Bus / Tram[edit]

  • Bus SB37 (Bochum - Ennepetal) leaves every 60 minutes
  • Tram 308 (Bochum - Hattingen) leaves every 15 minutes
  • Bus 332 (Wuppertal - Hattingen) leaves every 60 minutes

By Car[edit]

Either use A43 to Sprockhövel or Herbede, or get in via B51, which passes Hattingen city center.

Get around[edit]

A comprehensive bus network connects the city centre to most parts of the city on weekdays between 6 am and 6 pm. For other times, there are evenign- and night buses on some routes, but don't expect to reach

The central pedestrian area is located behind the big mall at the central bus station and railway station. Hattingen Old Town (Altstadt) features a number of nice little stores.
