Russian in the cities and Gagauzian in the rural areas (close to Balkan Turkish Dialects spoken in Greece or Bulgaria). Romanian/ Moldovan is hardly spoken. Young people learn English, German and/or French in school, most elder people know some phrases in German.

Go to the Second Hand Bazar in Komrat: very cheap clothes (mostly) in good quality
Cafe Yug (кафе юг): located in the Center of Komrat, freshly renovated, nice and cheap cantine.
Wine: Gagauzia has very good and cheap wines. Most people make their own wine (white, red, rose, sparkling wine). If you can't buy one of these, you can also buy them f.e. Vino Komrata in the Center of Komrat (Lenin Street), best bring you own plastic bottles. From 12 leu/liter
Cognac same here: very good, very cheap
Better don't swim in the lakes around Comrat. They might be polluted. Drinking water might not be potable, especially in the Ceadir Lunga Area.
