The city of Doun Keo (ក្រុងដូនកែវ) is in the Mekong Lowlands and Central Plains, and is the administrative center of Takeo Province of Cambodia.


Doun Keo means 'Grandmother Keo' whereas the provinces name Takeo (Ta Keo) means 'Grandfather Keo'.

Several minivans run the route along NH2 from Phnom Penh's Daeum Kor Market (ផ្សារដើមគរ) to Kirivong District's Tonloap Market (ផ្សារទន្លាប់) just 8km north of the Vietnamese border.

Around the independence monument there are several good eateries; there's a Bangladeshi from Chittagong that has a burger stand in the afternoons in front of Vimeantip Baby Shop. Steung Takeo along the Takeo boat port offers fresh seafood at good prices.
