Doral is in Florida.

According to the City of Doral website, in the late 1950’s real estate pioneers Doris and Alfred Kaskel dreamed of building a hotel and golf course. They purchased 2,400 acres of swampland for around $49,000. In 1962 they made their dream a reality when they opened a hotel and country club. Doral came from the combination of their names. The Doral Golf Resort & Spa is currently located at NW 87 Avenue and NW 36 Street and includes the Blue, Red, and 3 Par courses. The Blue Monster is one of their most famous courses and still holds PGA tour tournaments each year. Also, the Saturnia International Spa, is the largest in Florida and was ranked as one of the top spas in the US. In the early 1980’s Doral experienced a residential growth spurt, this occurred when their grandson built Doral Estates. From 1983 to 1985 Miami-Dade county banned building to protect the area’s water wells. In 1989 when the ban was lifted Doral had an enormous amount of growth. In 1996 when the citizens of Doral were unhappy with the tax prices, the community elected its first community council. Jose "Pepe" Cancio, Sr., Mario Pita and Barbara B. Thomas were elected and three more were appointed to the community council that initially met once a month.

There are two seasons in Doral, a warm and dry season from November through mid April and a hot and wet season from May through October. This is because of Doral’s subtropical climate. A subtropical climate means the whole year there is a temperature of 65F or higher.
