Get in[edit]

By bus[edit]

Buses Becker runs minibuses from Coyhaique, on Tuesdays (direct) and Saturdays (via Aysén) at 8am, for 24,000 CLP (Oct 2014). The buses go through Puyuhuapi, La Junta, Villa Santa Lucia. However, better check the times as they are prone to changing.

You can take the bus to Puerto Montt. This is cheaper than the direct ferry but also more complicated. First of all, there is only one bus per day, which leaves at 10.30. You will arrive to Puerto Montt around 23:00. The ride involves 3 busrides and 2 ferry layovers. Since they only have one bus, sitting down is a privelage. It is really uncomfortable, so spend some extra money and take the direct route via the ferry. The geography makes bustravel as well as hitchhiking really difficult.

There's a daily bus from Futaleufu.

By ferry[edit]

Naviera Austral runs ferries from Puerto Montt and Quellon year-round, and also Castro during summer. If you arrive from the ferry, take a right on the road at the jetty and it is only a 10-minute walk to town.
