  • Playa Medina.  edit

Playa Medina is probably the most beautiful beach of the región. Located between Carúpano and Rio Caribe in a paradisiac bay surrounded by coconut trees and wild vegetation, this beach has been protected by the local authorities to preserve all of its natural and wild beauty. The beach offers accomodation in confortable “cabañas” and people from the nearby village offer excellent meals of fish and delicious arepas, including the “arepa de cazon” made of small shark meat. Some posadas in the área organize trips to Playa Medina, including Posada la Escollera, located in the small fishermen village of Playa Copey.

  • Punta Araya.  edit

Punta Araya is located west of Carúpano, it consists of a península made of salt and red sand deserts between small authentic fishermen villages kept away from modernization. It leads you into a magical world of incredible colours with a great variety of blue tones from the sea and the yellow, red and white tones of the ground.
