The Celtic village of Carnac and the surrounding area has an extraordinarily high number of menhir and dolmen that can be visited. There are several impressive sites including Le Menec Alignment with over 3000 standing stones. Situated on the coast, summer offers a lovely beach and plenty of summer houses to rent as well as hotels and spas.

There is a visitors' center with carpark located across the street from Le Menec. Stones are protected by a fence, but during tourist season there may be tours. In the village square you will find the Le Musée James Miln - Zacharie Le Rouzic [1], the museum of pre-history and a quaint village church dedicated to St. Cornely.

There are several creperies surrounding the square that offer excellent food.

The Hotel Tumulus is a Relais de Silence, and is quite lovely. It is situated next to the Tumulus St. Michel, a large burial cairn.
