Burton upon Trent is a town in the West Midlands.


Burton upon Trent, locally known as 'Burton', is historically a brewing town, with over a dozen breweries in its heyday. It is approximately 109 miles from the capital city of London. It is only 5 miles away from the furthest point from the sea in the whole of Great Britain. It is a smallish town with approx. 45,000 residents.

Burton has a rail station not far from the centre of town, many mainline services stop at this station (Operated by CrossCountry trains) although arrivals from London would have to change at Birmingham New Street. The nearest airport is East Midlands airport. There is a good network of buses in place. Its very easy to get there using main roads (A38 and A511)

The National Brewery Centreis a museum based on Burton's brewing heritage.

Bloodstock Open Air is the largest heavy metal festival in the UK takes place in the nearby Caton Park each year on the 2nd weekend of August.
